I am a market rate resident in 283 Ave C on the super luxurious C-loop near the lux power plant. I was just in the elevator bringing laundry up when one of the residents told me not to leave my laundry in the laundry room too long. Apparently there is some mental patient in 283 that goes into the laundry room at night and cuts up left behind clothes with scissors..... Now if that isn't luxury living, I don't know what is.
But they paid the ransom
That's not a mental patient, that's Donalda from management. She's really over worked these days.
i have to ask... in 319 avenue c... we have people that seem to leave clothes in the laundry room overnight and even for days at a time.
i dont get that...
can someone please explain that to me?
is it a need for extra closet space.. so by leaving clothes down there... it counts as another closet?
"hmm... i think i'll wear my blue shirt today.. oh.. its in the 'other' closet... guess i'll go down and get it.."
It is the clothing of the formerly homeless that TS has agreed to house in selected buildings of ST in exchange for Lord Mayor (for life) Bloomberg's promise not to allow Robbie and his daddy to go bust on STPCV
Well, marketrate, you might chalk it up to a "senior moment!"
My latest occurred while trying to get out of the laundry room. I grabbed my pocketbook and my keys, and then I began frantically hunting for my laundry! Where did I leave it? I searched everywhere, thinking, "Well, where the world are my patterned deep-V empire waist stretchy blouses?!" I finally gave up searching, and it wasn't until I got back upstairs that I realized that my clean laundry was perched right on top of my head and I didn't even feel it there! So now when I can't find my laundry, I check my head first!
Edna
You have GOT to cut back on your eggnog consumption!
Well, my building is a NYU dorm and I have to tell you that me and Beulette really appreciate those students leaving their laundry in the machines because we figure that they just don't need it if they don't go back and pick it up. It's just plain nice of those kids to wash and dry it for us. Beulette has found some nifty thongs and little itsy bitsy lingerie from Victoria's Secret and in her line of work those things come in very handy. I, on the other hand, just like warm duds because we don't have any heat in our building so I am always appreciative of the abandoned sweatpants and sweaters. A good time to go down is on a Sunday when all the kids are watching the nonstop NFL and college football coverage on television. They put their stuff in the machines pre-game and then by the time all the games end, they are too drunk to remember that they started their laundry earlier - and let's face it they are all born to shop with their trust funds and don't really want to get back anything that has only been worn once. Me and Beulette and her new boyfriend, Big Clancy, have a whole new seasonal wardrobe thanks to the generosity of those kids. Special thanks to CBS and NBC for their nonstop football on Sundays. Without you guys it probably wouldn't be possible.
ps While the itsy bitsy Victoria's Secret stuff fit Beulette ok, I often find myself size-challenged. Those girls should eat more and bulk up a bit because a size 1 is just no good to me. That's why I end up with all the guys' stuff and Beulette gets all the pretty things.
i like the fact that you said they were too "drunk" to recall... even though generally the 1st floor of my building stinks of active pot smoking...
which would coincide with the 3:30am - 7:00am party going on up there last night/this morn..
drunk people woulda passed out way before that...
or so i'm told.
Haven't said a word in a week... Just want to point out that the TA website has now been down for about a month and there continues to be absolute silence from them. I even have never received any further feedback from a meeting I had with some of the board weeks ago.
I know I am going to be bitched at by some other posters but this behavior is really disturbing!

Why do you keep taking threads off topic by bitching about the TA ? It was YOUR fault that the forums were taken down because you continually harped about how they weren't cooperating with you and you refused to STFU !
Now, you've parked yourself at LuxLiving, and you STILL refuse to STFU !
So how about getting with the program, stop taking the threads off topic and respect the rest of the people who are trying to carry on in the wake of the mess that YOU made !! You get all high and mighty about how the TA is ineffective, but you and one other person manage to inflict more damage on the community through your incessant bullying of the TA moderator. Nice work.
Give us a break already !
Ziggy,
So glad your mentioned the TA. A day without your mentioning it would be like a day without receiving snail mail, a phone call or email from Verizon.
Furthermore, senior moments have nothing to do with booze.
ROFL Edna!
Anyhoo, that must be a designated luxury building. We only get 5 washers and 5 dryers in mine!
Cassie
Just want Ziggy to know that I am not the anonymous poster above. You can ask Luxie to check the IP addresses if you like. Twas not moi.
Anonymous
It is attitudes like yours that are ensuring that the shithole TS is turning our homes into is only going to get worse.
Yeah many of Luxie's posts are funny and posters like Beulah and Edna are generally quite funny but it's like playing music on the deck of the Titanic.
Your pathetic attitude of blaming the messenger is just completely unproductive.
There are other long term tenants in STPCV who agree with me and we will be meeting for the first time shortly to try to deal with TS despite the apathy of the TA and the attitude of people like you. What have you done except post cutesy posts here or posts attacking me?
Beulah
I'm a big boy. I can take ad hominum attacks from an Anonymous poster. In fact I learned many years ago that when your debating opponent atarts with ad hominum attacks , you have won the debate. Anon may be a TA Board member or a friend of one but whomever he/she is, he/she is part of the problem ,not part of the solution.
The beginnings of a solution may emerge from the group I mentioned in my previous post. Time will tell but at least we are trying.
That's right ziggy, blame me for your ineptitude.
You have NO idea who I am, what I've done or what position I might hold in the community. All I can tell you is that you have singularly accomplished what Met Life and Tishman Speyer could not do, and that's to silence the voice of a community.
You think that I'M leading this community into a shithole ?? You couldn't be further from the truth.
I'll believe that you will lead the charge against Tishman Speyer when you step out from behind your anonymous facade and lead this community. Until then, you're just a blowhard who has accomplished NOTHING against a landlord bent on driving all of us out.
Put up or shut up.
Check out this link, folks:
http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/NY-New-York-Stuyvesant-Town-859412.html
Anon
I'm the blowhard? Over the years I have lead the charge in my building on 3 issues involving noise and air pollution and got all 3 resolved, My long- term neighbors know and respect that, they often seek my advice on building issues. The people I will be meeting with shortly are all serious adults who care deeply about this community and intend to get something done despite the arrogance of TS and the ineptitude of the TA leadership.
The only unfortunate consequence of our intended actions will be that it might benefit assholes like you who think that not being able to bitch on the TA website is the worst thing that has happened recently in our community.I have no idea what your agenda is- you could be a TA board member or friend or apologist for the TA board , you could be Robbie Speyer himself just trying to foment intra-tenant disputes or you could just be an all around miserable human being. But what you are NOT going to do is to bully me into stopping my occasional posts about the TA. By their silence they have failed all the tenants and for that they should do the honorable thing and resign.
Ziggy, the only asshole that I see here is you.
You've never gone up against TS, and I guarantee that they'll eat you alive.
Have fun.
Luxie,
I don't know who Ziggy is except for the fact the (he or she) is overproductive, but so what. Why is Anonymous blaming Ziggy for everything, and in keeping with monitoring the non-signed in comments, why have you allowed Anonymous to do this twice? Sometimes I think all you people know each other and I feel like an outsider!
Charlie
Thanks for the compliment. I haven't been called "overproductive" in years. Makes me feel young again. LOL
Anonymous
You really need to work on your anger management issues
Charlie, I don't know Anonymous or Ziggy. I put anonymous's comments through because both Anon and Ziggy keep responding to each other. I don't know the back story nor do I care at the moment. I'm in bed trying to heal.
Ziggy doesn't appear as though he needs my help at the moment anyway ;)
Just for the record, that wasn't me. I gave up.
Can people PLEASE keep the comments restricted to stay on topic to the story!!!
There are plenty of places on the web to set up a bitch/moan board on the web, Yahoo/Google groups, Facebook, etc.
I reject the false equivalence of the "plague on both your houses" school.
Ziggy is sounding a necessary alarm, and claims to be trying to do more than that (a claim I have no reason to doubt). Those telling him to "quit carping" must think saying too much (which they charge him worth) is worse than saying too little (which over 90% of the community is obviously guilty of, in part because, in the absence of organization, folks don't know how to helpfully communicate their concerns and/or willingness to help.)
With conditions as they are and the TA absent, why would Ziggy's critics feel this way, if they have the long-term interest of the community at heart? I'm not saying they don't -- I don't know -- I just can't understand them. It's like they're saying: "Alright, jerk, we heard you screaming about the fire already, and complaining that the FDNY hasn't showed up. Screaming isn't gonna help, why don't you get back to sitting down and ignoring it like a normal person?"
Loath
The whole point of this blog is to note the problems caused by TS. This is often done in a humourous way but it is designed not just for laughs (because we ,especially the MR tenants, would just be laughing at ourselves for living here) but to inform each other about possible solutions and to inform people not living here to avoid this place at all costs.
So all of the posts (except for Anon's ad hominum attacks on me) are directly on point.
