"WITH most commercial sales unable to get financing, and development stalled for the same reason, brokerages and title companies have been shedding staff.
And now developers are starting to make similar moves.
Tishman Speyer Properties, Forest City Ratner and Extell Development are among those that have had layoffs, sources said.
A source close to Tishman Speyer said those sacked represent less than 3 percent of the company's total workforce and did not involve senior management.
However, at the same time Tishman Speyer also has been snatching up people who were laid off from Wall Street due to the credit crunch.
A Tishman spokesman could not be reached for comment."

Rob Speyer has done it again! Overpay by 20 billion for a bunch of real estate, cause a colossal financial disaster, assist in teetering Lehman brothers, and then pick up a bunch of failed financial analysts at rock bottom prices! I'm beginning to think he planned this whole thing out just to have Bud Perrone use the word "snatched" in a non-sexual press release. I bet he's even going to pay these employees with valuable stock.

And so when I called service this weekend to have the plumbers blow down the line because the HOT water coming from my kitchen and bath faucets looked like strong tea, I was told "no ones' around." And so I took cold showers, washed dishes in the COLD dirty city water, then boiled it in a pitiful attempt to sterilize and had my son shower at a friend's (embarrassing)house..........again. "No one's around." Simple. O.K. How much more are you going to raise my rent????????????
Also Monday morning I woke to find almost pristine hot water coming from my kitchen faucet. All weekend we were left to bathe in sludge because "no one's around." (to flush the line)
