Oval Kids: Almost Time to Put Your Children on Display

Oval Kids is a safe and secure location for your children to play.Stuyvesant Town's Oval Kids is set to open on October 12th and the tykes are buzzing with excitement!  "Can we really do yoga in front of the window?" "Is Rob Speyer really giving puppet shows?" "Daddy, who's that man watching me from outside?"

Stuyvesant Town residents should feel completely safe letting their children frolic in Cetra/Ruddy's see-through playhouse, after all, a prestigious company like Tishman Speyer would never cut costs on running the appropriate background checks on all of the staff that would be coming into contact with the children, right?

We wouldn't want to see this happen again.

This place becomes a bigger and bigger liability each day. Aside from the fact that the bushes are a stalkers dream come true, does anyone really know if background checks have been done on their employees?

Is Oval Kids a daycare center? Do you drop your kids off or do you attend to them yourself? For all the money they sink into their website and glossy brochures they really don't provide any real information. I'm still a bit confused.

And why does it take a watchdog website (love you Luxie) to address these concerns?

Go Ask Alice,

Because the parents don't really want to know. They just want a place to bring their kids in the winter when it's too cold to go to the playgrounds.

Having a child myself I am not sure if this post frightens me or if it sounds a legitimate warning bell. Either way I'll definitely be asking about the staff's background/credentials. Thank you I think lol.

That nice gentleman who hides behind the trees gives the best massages. He can get a bit touchy at times, but his free candy more than makes up for it. Sometimes he takes me back to his apartment and takes pictures of me while he scratches himself.

Go Ask Alice, you are so right. There has been nothing in print that actually describes these services in any detail beyond snacks and beverages.
I wonder if the deal Pish Sty made with NYU and The New School required that a place be created for students to study especially since packing them into small apartments with pressurized walls does not allow for study space.

I was interested in signing up for the amenities or essentials as they are now calling them but I found they were not worth the money. The emails this website has reprinted regarding the essentials assure me that I made the right decision by passing on them. I feel there are too many young people involved with this project who don't see the value in the money they are asking for.

Why should I pay for Oval Film when I can watch the movies of my choice at home for free? The giant banners give the impression that at some point in time they were considering serving wine in that new lounge but now from what I understand they will not be serving any alcoholic beverages. I surely don't need a study nor a daycare.

I also did not like that people outside could watch my every move.

ha! Looks like something from Unsolved Mysteries.

The amenities are a Law & Order episode waiting to happen.

Stuyvesant Town's website says they are going to "entertain and educate with classes and activities". Who is providing this education and what are their qualifications? Robert O is right, they can't send out a simple formal email yet I should trust them with my daughter?

Looks like I spoke too soon. There's another one of their misspelled emails.

The Stuy Town perve? Well the NY Times got it wrong. It was over 100,000 pics PER HARD DRIVE and there were a few of those carted away. Whatever did happen to Mr. 6 (8?) Oval?

Oh, and there's a guy in a black car on the 20th St. Loop following kids with puppies to make sure they are cleaning up after their dogs. Doesn't that just make you proud to be a tenant here?
