A Sty Spy received an e-mail from management this evening that says gas has finally been restored though there is still no sign of little blue flames in the Sty Spy's apartment:

Con Edison has fixed the leak and gas has been restored to your apartment. Your laundry room is also operational.
Maintenance employees are currently going through your building to replace the hose connecting your stove to the pipes. Carpenters will go through at a later date to repair walls if and when necessary.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation with us during this time.

ConEdison finally evacuated Dunkin Donuts long enough to fix the gas leak that nearly killed all of the residents at 522, 524 and 526 East 20th Street.
Maintenance employees with be going through the apartments one by one while you are at work, robbing you blind and trying on your underwear. Carpenters will be by in a few months to repair the large holes we tore through your walls.
We sincerely apologize for our breathtaking stupidity and hope that one day, if we wish hard enough, on a star bright enough, we will do something, anything, right the first time.

Stop complaining about the impromptu cement lounge we set up to serve you ingrates dinner, you better get used to it because that's where we are building the gas chamber.

As someone who lives in these buildings, I can report that gas is definitely NOT back on. In fact I haven't even seen that letter you posted. There were 3 guys in my apt today ripping out my kitchen cabinet and making a huge mess. None of them could tell me when gas would be restored. They were, however, nice enough to leave my stove standing in the middle of the kitchen so I couldn't access my sink.
