The Lux Weekender: Energy Conservation Classes

Stuyvesant Town's Energy Day!Join your fellow Stuyvesant Town residents Saturday evening at Oval Outage, (the former Oval Lounge), to learn the latest techniques in energy conservation. Beginning at sundown Tishman Speyer's brightest bulbs will be on hand to offer tenants assistance in conserving energy to help minimize the strain on the city's power supply.

Tips include:

- How to get the most gas mileage out of your golf cart or security jeep while on non-work related trips.
- How to conserve energy while leaf blowing a single lawn at 12 hour intervals.
- How to keep the new leasing office a crisp 62 degrees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Residents are encouraged to bring in their old, standard light bulbs to trade them in for free, energy conserving fluorescent bulbs to help keep the complex looking institutional both inside and out!

MetLife offered free energy-saving light bulbs for life when it started its energy-saving initiative a few years ago. Will TishSpuy be continuing that "amenity" or will fees apply?

Tishman Speyer's "brightest bulbs?" Oh My, I guess the very most dazzling of them would be of lower wattage than a refrigerator light bulb. I don't trust Beulette and the TishSpy Cowboy to behave themselves in the dark, so I am going to forbid Beulette to attend this event. Might go myself though and see who I can grope.

Tishman Speyer's brightst bulbs? We're talking candle power here. As much as candle power as you'd get on a one-year old's birthday cake.

Gotta love management. They advertise the place with "all utilities included" and then beg the tenants not to abuse them since they fork the bill. Sounds like another down year for revenues. Just for this, I'm going to raise their con-ed bill 28% next year by running arc welding equipment in my apartment.

George Hatzmann denied that wind turbines will be placed atop selected Stuy Town buildings to generate alternative energy. He noted that there's little room left since the cellular towers have been installed.

The found a "pot farm" in one apartment a few years ago. The "farmers" had some kind of special generator set up for all those special lamps they needed to grow the stuff! A neighbor snitched on them. Can't trust anyone around here! It was an illegally sublet apartment too!
