TAP has announced that the Tap Portugal contact data of its customers have been stolen and put up for sale on the dark web. In a letter to its clients, TAP said that some of their details – such as names, nationalities and email addresses – had been stolen in a cyber attack last month.

It warned that this could have been used to commit fraud such as phishing, and recommended that customers change their passwords and keep an eye out for unsolicited contacts requesting personal information. TAP also advised that clients should not click on links and attachments in suspicious emails.
