Ah, the Oval

Jerry, Rob, and Clarabelle the goat. (Again with the goats!)

Rob's day laborers break a water pipe.

It's the Stuy Town mascot, Penis with Chicken Feet!

The infamous Avenue C dumpsters!
Merry Christmas!

I LOVE IT!!!
Wonderful, wonderful!!!
Can I eat Jerry?
Stuy Town never looked better
Classic!
Thanks for the chuckle!
You made me smile!
How long before we get MCI notices for repointing the gingerbread and replacing icing cracks?
Brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant! Whoever did that should get the Baker of The Decade Award.
Thank you. Satan's Own and I made it over the weekend.
Such attention to detail...right down to the gingerbread rat!
Ahh...the holidays!
What a team! That's a masterpiece! (Think they'd want it at MoMA?)
I hope not, Satan's Own just feasted on Robbie and Clarabelle!
Yum! Saving the best for last?
What a talented team you are, even to the extent of getting Jerry's massive girth true to scale, not to mention the beady little eyes and bad toupee! In spite of who and what is depicted, it all looks very delicious and my mouth is watering just looking at it.
Umm, someone has too much time on their hands. Perhaps you should investigate some local charities? Your time can be spent in a more productive way than Fugly Baking.
OK, everyone attack me now and accuse me of being Rob Speyer or someone. We all know how much they care about this site.
Oh and the Goats, so funny!
HAr Har Har
Consider yourself attacked!
Pure genius - love the detail
It also looks just like the Baruch housing projects I was born in. What a coincidence!
Insightful and poignant.
We are all stunned by your brilliance.
I guess there is just nothing left to say...
Yeah, if you think you are going to suggest how I spend my one week off during the year you can so fuck off. Because it's SO uncommon for people to make gingerbread houses during Christmas.
Not sure why you bother commenting here anyway. Is antagonizing people the best use of your time? But wait, you are almost "50" I forgot.
Luxie, you're my Ace of Cakes.
lol.
playing some LL catch-up. this is fucking FUNNY. such attention to detail.
Please tell us, O Righteous One, which local charities did you devote your time and efforts to this Holiday Season? We would all love to know, I'm sure.
Troll didn't have time to donate because Troll was too busy traveling. For someone who supposedly lives in "Peter Copper Village" that daily commute to Boston must be a bitch.
Luxus Sleuthy ;)
The dead give away was this person showed up out of nowhere in the same post that chick and her Hitler loving friend started acting up. Probably a friend out of state. Which makes it even more pathetic.
hey quick question: has anyone noticed new inserts in the washing machines for the detergent? does anyone know why they're there or their purpose?
also, does anyone know if the old washing machines were upright or front-loading like the current ones?
The old washing machines were front loading also. But they were better than the Mac Grays because they were taller so the door opening cleared the top of the laundry cart. The Mac Gray machines should have been mounted on a platform, but weren't. So when I'm removing wash from the machines, I'm always dropping some clothing onto the floor.
the reason i ask is because my friend noticed that these, along with many front-load washers, are missing the key part of the wash cycle- the agitator- which does a far better job at cleaning and clearing away the previous user's bleach. this coupled with the minimal use of water explains why my whites come out looking so damn ugly. i might start using a laundry on 14th just for the white loads.
any idea on why those new detergent sifter things were installed in the detergent slots?
Huh? They were top loaders forever. We never had to get on our knees to look for a stray sock or thong.
Who ARE you?
Sorry, memory lapse. My apartment building before I moved to Stuy Town in 2004 had front loaders. I must have confused them with the machines immediately preceding the Mac Gray front loaders.
Can we talk backhoes or earth movers now?
The machines that they ripped out to replace with the MacManglers were front loaders. They had only been in for a year or so and the company that supplied them was Coinmach. They actually worked pretty well and used real water and were much more roomy that the MacManglers. Also didn't have that filthy rubber gasket round the doors. Oh, I'm getting all misty-eyed and dreamy thinking about the days when we actually had laundry facilities instead of little Toys-R-Us "lets play house" pretend washers caked with frat juice and hair. Uugghhh!
Why? You planning on doing a little earth moving? Got some bodies to bury? Where's Roundly Roger these days? Haven't heard from him lately. Ziggy! You didn't ..........?
Thanks Homebody. I thought I was going crazy there for a while when yetai said that we always had top loaders before the Mac Gray front loaders. (Maybe yetai didn't use the laundry rooms during that year or so of the Coinmach front loaders?)
Anyway, those Coinmach front loaders were better and less expensive than the Mac Grays. And they were tall enough so the door opening cleared the laundry cart and you were able to push the laundry cart up against the machine. With the short Mac Grays I can't push the cart against the machine so there's always a gap for small laundry items to fall through when I'm taking out wash.
So what's with the 100 apartments only stabilized until when?
So what's with the 100 apartments only stabilized until when?
ann,
I understand that 2017 is when the J-51 abatements expire. And, absent some intervening event, the 100 apartments should also become de-stabilized then.
So why the 'WARNING' if they're essentially the same thing?
