A Lux Living reader just shot this video of an elevator malfunctioning in 649 East 14th Street in Stuyvesant Town. When an elevator door is held open too long, the elevator omits an ear piercing noise to alert the rider to stop holding the door open. However, there is nobody holding the door open in this particular elevator, yet the resident says the sound has been blaring for days.
"Just a heads up. I live in 649. One of our elevators has had the sound from the door being held open stuck for days. I called resident services about it yesterday and they said they would report it. Whether they reported it or not, I don't know, but it sure hasn't been fixed. Can't say I'm really surprised. That, in addition to the bell that rings for the floors now is enough to make you want to kick the door in. I made a video of it to show you. I never really understood the sound for the door being held open too long in a residence. This is not school.....oh wait."

My goodness. At least Mssrs. Speyer haven't yet started piping in this to cover it up!
Lol. I think I'd rather deal with the noise from the elevator.
That's not NOISE, that's actually the sound that all these people are listening to on their iPhones !!
If only the FBI knew that sound. The entire Waco tragedy could've been avoided. The place would have cleared in ten minutes.
