Just a question - is anyone not paying rent who's facing with this problem? I mean if that was my water, I'd throw a bottle full of this stuff in front of the management office with a note demanding they fix it or they don't get rent.
Is there grounds for a lawsuit?
Thoughts?
Many things should be considered and can be done. However that requires leadership from someone. The TA leadership has been missing in action for weeks and they are the only ones who can at least begin to organize the tenants because they, and only they, have access to the contact information for the approximate 1400 members of the TA.
Maybe we can ask our President Elect if he can recommend a good community organizer in Manhattan. We sure could use one.
For crying out loud give it a break, Ziggy. You are like a looped message or a broken record. We know how you feel about the TA, just give it a rest please.
I don't understand what is so hard with keeping people informed with what is going on. The TA has the email addresses of everyone who signed up for the website, why aren't they emailing people to keep them up to date with their site. If they are having problems, fine, just tell us what's going on.
I agree Ziggy, there is a total lack of leadership here and the fear people have for Tish Spy paralyzes them from doing anything. Quite frankly I think Tish-Spy is the Wizard of Oz, a little old man with a smoking box. Fear only makes them more powerful.
Beulah
I will give it a rest when the TA leadership begins to lead! If they can't, for whatever reason, they should resign.
This sounds like a job for Dan Garodnick; he's up for reelection in 2009. If he's planning to run again, he should be showing some leadership on this issue. Dan's number is 212-818-0580
Also, remember Romeo Ymalay who's been monitoring this situation for Senator Duane; his phone number is 212-633-8052; e-mail is romeo@tomduane.com.
Come on, John, er, Beulah.....it sounds like you're trying to control ziggy's posts. Why? Because ziggy and many others holds a different opinion of the TA than you do? And speaking of looped messages, we've been subjected to your own broken record defending the TA - yet others deserve a voice, too, whether you agree with them or not. Stop trying to shut down the opposition.
Excoriating the TA is fun but not productive. Let's ask Councilmember Garodnick if he would be willing to sponsor a public meeting for tenants at which representatives of the NYC DEP and the landlord explain what they are doing to correct the problem. His website bio [http://www.garodnick.com/about] touts his creative problem-solving abilities and his out-of-the-box public service! Let's put them to work.
I AM NOT JOHN!!

Just force some Southern Comfort between my parched lips.
Talk about trying to control someone's posts. So much for "others deserve a voice, too, whether you agree with them or not." At least girl is funny when she's trying to be.

Nice job trying to control Beulah's posts, and mine.

Hey Beulah
I guess John woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! Now he is dissing both of us
ziggy
I was perfectly content to keep my name off this thread until girl decided to drag me into it. Then Beulah and you follow up with some lame attempts at humor at my expense, so sorry if I seem like I "woke up on the bed on the wrong side this morning." You could have addressed me directly instead of appealing to Beulah to do it for you.
Anyway, I'm outta here for Thanksgiving, so have fun. See you Saturday.
Hey John
Lighten up!
Enjoy the turkey
Remember
Breathe in and out slowly while humming
All I said was that I wasn't John! What's the big deal?
To clarify, it looked like Girl thought John and Beulah could be one and the same person. That's the way I read it, anyway. Maybe John should read more carefully before flying off the handle.
Getting back on topic, I have to say that the bathtub pictured here is a lot cleaner than mine is after Beulette stops by for her weekly bath. I've told her that now she's going to be going to MIT she will have to spruce up her personal hygiene if she wants to be accepted into one of the best sororities there. She just pooh poohs that because she's only interested in getting into the frat houses. Typical!
This he place is starting to resemble the TA board. And that's a shame.
