"When MetLife sold the property in 2006, it estimated residents of 1,600 apartments would move out, die or have their rents reach the $2,000 deregulation threshold by the close of 2008, letting the landlord raise rents by any amount the market would bear. So far, Tishman has only deregulated about 1,000 apartments, according to S&P, 38 percent fewer than MetLife estimated was possible.A debt service fund established in 2006 with about $400 million now has $165.7 million in it. This "deregulating" sounds a lot like 'ethnic cleansing' to me!
What are they doing to these plants? I walk around the oval and think the plants are starting to look a little better then I realize they died and were replaced. How can a group of paid gardeners kill THAT many plants? It's so wasteful.

If you notice, they completely covered the sidewalk with this delivery, making passage impossible and forcing pedestrians, the elderly and handicapped into the street.
Typical in the way Tishman-Speyer has handled ALL of their construction projects, with absolutely ZERO regard for the well being and convenience of their tenants.
These people (Tishman Speyer and ALL their employees and contractors) really suck.

I overheard a cell phone conversation between Rob Speyer and Peter Walker. Rob told Peter Walker to instruct his gardeners to plant lilies in the lawns of buildings with the fewest air conditioners. "Let's get them in the mood for the hereafter", said Rob.
I was trying to take photos of the dead plants today and I had one of those golf cart goons freak out on me. He shoved my camera away and told me to mind my business. Can you imagine???
To Miss Used: If that goon laid a hand on you, that is ASSAULT. You should go swear out a complaint against him. There is no law that says you can't take photographs of dead plants! There is a law against shoving someone's camera and verbally abusing them. I just can't believe what scum of the earth lowlifes we have running and working at our once-lovely StuyTown. He did shove my hand but it wasn't hard enough that I would feel comfortable calling it assault. He was more of an asshole than an attacker.
