It appears Stuyvesant Town management may have sent out their gas-back-on e-mail prematurely. Several residents have e-mailed Lux Living to say they are still without gas. One resident recently commented:
"As someone who lives in these buildings, I can report that gas is definitely NOT back on. In fact I haven't even seen that letter you posted. There were 3 guys in my apt today ripping out my kitchen cabinet and making a huge mess. None of them could tell me when gas would be restored. They were, however, nice enough to leave my stove standing in the middle of the kitchen so I couldn't access my sink."
Where is the Tenants Association in all this? Also MIA it seems.
By the way, Beulette has gas in her trailer and we had some short ribs and fixins today, washed down with good ole Jack Daniels!
The heat seems to be MIA too now that they screwed with it. I get heat first thing in the morning, then again at night, but nothing during the day. And the heat only comes from the pipe in the bathroom. I'm f*cking freezing!
Anonymous......same here. My apartment is freezing after they recently installed the so-called heat sensors in my building. They might as well be up Robbie Speyer's ass for all the good they're doing. And I'm sure he'd enjoy that!
girl...they didn't turn on the heat until 5 days ago and it's freezing in my apartment even with the windows shut. VERY irritating because I work from home.
Ditto. My apartment is freezing. And usually it's so hot in the winter that I have to have the windows open.
The same thing happened in PCV when they put the sensors in. Everyone was freezing.
I hope 311 is flooded with calls from here. In spite of the way TS operates there really are laws.
I've dialed 311 a few times and complained to management, neither of which does any good. I also work from home and bought an oil-filled DeLonghi radiator which are supposedly the safest, and it helps a little, but not a lot. Great....just in time for my new electric bill!
Since I am one of the few people in ST that has gas, I run my stove all day long for the heat. It keeps my oily rag collection warm too!
I was thinking of getting a heater, but for now I just wear 8 layers of clothes. But then I have to wash them in the stupid washing machines that only allow you to wash 6 things at a time.
