NTT Self Storage provides Stuyvesant Town residents with spacious storage units for a reasonable $70 a month. As an added bonus, Tishman Speyer insulates those units for free with rat and roach infested garbage. Residents at 510 East 20th Street unwillingly take advantage of the amenity.

Default Worries at Housing Complexes Bought by Developers
"After a Monday article about how the middle-class Harlem housing complex Riverton Houses' owners might default on their loan, the NY Times now looks other big real estate deal that might go sour. Like the Riverton Houses, Stuyvesant Town was bought by a big real estate company who hoped to convert more rent-stabilized units to market rates and make a profit (but it's been slow-going so far). And there are other possible victims, like Harlem's Savoy Park, a development bought by Credit Suisse. A Citizens Housing and Planning Council fellow tells the Times, "[Financiers] all got caught up in the bubble mentality.”

Looks like to Speyers have all ready begun collecting cans and junk to make up for losses.
My spell checker keeps telling me that "already" is not a word and I mistakenly gave in against my better judgment.
TishSpy has greatly reduced the number of its maintenance staff and given each employee more buildings to clean. Hence, the halls are very rarely vacuumed and the garbage mounts up in the "recycling area" where a good many people dump stuff that does not belong there. I try to help out the maintenance staff by throwing everything except glass down the garbage chute. I can't worry about recycling when my building is like a shithouse, courtesy of TishSpy. Also, I am hoping that TishSpy will get fined by the sanitation department for having recycleable stuff in the regular garbage. Doubt it though because they must have paid off the biggies in the SDNY to allow them to keep the dumpsters in the 14th Street Loop and on Avenue C. The infamous dumpsters that are emptied at 3 AM. Somebody's palm was greased for that to happen.
How wonderfully decadent! Look at all those empty beer cans and bottles, NYU and the New School must have had a market rate mixer!
Mr Speyer, pour more chocolate icing on my belly!
Hed Bot, you should come over to MY building and see what they put out for recycling! Cases and cases of empty Bud, Miller, Heineken; tons of empty wine bottles. Those students must all have pickled livers by the time they graduate! And they are the "professionals" of the future! Oy Vey!
Barron's Story today, Stuy Town-Peter Cooper nearly in default. Tishman and Blackrock likely to lose control to the banks.
Cant service interest payments. Reserve fund created to service debt nearly depleted. Rents insufficient to cover costs.
If the residents of Stuy and Peter want to really screw Tishman and Blackrock, they would withhold rents for the next 3 months-6 months, forcing a bankruptcy filing of the buildings and pushing into federal bankruptcy court. Tenants then pay the back rent and now the banks and courts have to work deals with the tenants.
Rent Strike is the way to go for tenants to regain control of their homes and screw the greedy bastards.
